Epvi*ropMei)t, lipc,
LARRY E. O'BRIAN
FOUNDER
October 16, 2009
Mr. Berhan Keffelew
Division of Reclamation, Mining & Safety
1313 Sherman St., #205A
Denver, CO 80203
Dear Mr. Berhan;
RE: Colorado Backhoe Service
The Orr Pit, M-2009-074
Adequacy Response #1
7985 VANCE DRIVE, SUITE 205A
ARVADA, COLORADO 80003
303-423-7297
FAX 303-423-7599

On behalf of our client Colorado Backhoe Service, I will
respond to your October 5, 2009 adequacy review letter in the
order and number format presented in that document.
I) Exhibit B
I like our proposed seedmix works on other mines in this
area, creating a good cover of grass on the disturbed areas
and its cheap. You are correct in pointing out that the mix
is not consistent with the species listed in the Soils and
Vegetation Section for that reason we propose the following
seed mix. This mix will provide approximately 48 seeds/
.sgft/ac to be consistent with the SCD's Critical Planting
Guidelines.
Species #'s PLS
Sideoats Grama 2.50
Western Wheatgrass 3.00
Little Bluestem 2.00
Indian Ricegrass 3.00
Needleandthread 3.50 `
Total 14.00
II) Exhibit C Mining Plan
1) This is original access for the property. The county re-
quires that this road be used since it has an approved
access point on County Road 33. The owners have said that
this road will become their primary access to the property
during development, so will remain when mining ends. Colo-
rado Backhoe Service will grade and shape the road when they
are using it but no major upgrade is planned nor is it
needed.
