Box 1974
Idaho Springs, CO 80452
Re: Application Incomplete, Hukill Gulch Millsite, File No. M-2009-076
Dear Mr. McHale:
On September 29, 2009 the Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety (DRMS) received Venture Resources
110d Hard Rock/Metal Mining Reclamation Permit Application package for the Hukill Gulch Millsite, File No.
M-2009-076. Preliminary review of the information received determined that the following items must be
provided before the DRMS can consider Venture Resources application as being submitted and technical review
can begin:
APPLICATION FORM: On page three, item ten of the application form, the quarter section where the
proposed mill site is to be located was not provided. On page three, item eleven of the application form, the
latitude, longitude, and UTM coordinates provided are well to the north of the proposed affected land. The
primary mine entrance location for the purposes of this item is the point where the primary access route intersects
the proposed affected land boundary. On page three, item twelve of the application form, no primary future
(post-mining) land use land use was provided. Venture Resources must select one of the future land uses listed in
the application form. On page three, item thirteen of the application form, the present land use is designated to be
mining. Since the site is not currently being mined, a different land use must be designated. Wildlife habitat or
rangeland are typically designated for lands that do not fit the other land uses listed in the application form.
Provide a corrected page three.
EXHIBIT C - Mining Plan (Rule 6.3.3): (2) If tailing ponds are part of the milling process, the mine plan
description should address the following:
(d) Maps and Plans: Design drawings must, at a minimum, describe specific design details for tail transport
systems. These systems must be included within the area of affected land/permit area.
EXHIBIT E - Map (Rule 6.3.5): (1) In addition to the requirements of 6.2.1(2), Venture Resources must
provide a map that clearly describes the features associated with the mining plan and the components of the
Reclamation Plan. Include one map for the mine plan and one map for the Reclamation Plan. The map(s) must
note any section corners adjacent to the proposed operation. At a minimum, maps must include the following
information:
Office of Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Denver • Grand Junction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
