Because of recent freezing temperatures and advanced growth
stage of the weed species present, spring of 2010 will be the more effective time for controlling noxious weeds
at those sites.
Dilts Quarry
Primary weed species - Canada thistle (Circium arvense) and white horehound (Marrubium vulgare)
Treatment - Milestone (aminopyralid) + Escort (metsulfuron) applied in a 7 oz/acre + 1 oz/acre tank mix
Spot-treatments applied, subsequent herbicide application planned for spring 2010.
Boettcher Sandstone Quarry N1 ja77 - 3yS &/I vler,
Primary weed species - Scotch thistle (Onopordum acanthium)
Treatment - Tordon (picloram) applied at 1 quart/acre rate on rosettes present. Due to lack of precipitation in
the late summer and early fall, very little emergence had occurred. Subsequent herbicide application planned
for spring of 2010.
Tim D' Amato
Land Stewardship Manager
Larimer County Department of Natural Resources
PO Box 1190
Ft.
