III. COMMENTS - COMPLIANCE <br /> Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br /> during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection <br /> and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br /> This was a partial inspection of the Munger Canyon Mine conducted by Mike Boulay of the <br /> Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety on October 7, 2009. 1 was not accompanied by an <br /> operator representative during the inspection. Weather conditions were sunny and cool. Ground <br /> conditions were dry. There was no activity at the site during this inspection. <br /> Signs and Markers <br /> The Mine Identification sign located at the waste disposal site has blown down and should be <br /> repaired (see attached Photograph No.1). The Mine ID sign at the entrance to the pennit area is <br /> intact and properly displayed. <br /> Roads <br /> The access road was mostly dry and in good condition. No problems were noted along its entire <br /> length up to the former portal bench access road. <br /> Hydrologic Balance <br /> East Salt Creek had only a very small amount of water in it. Munger Creek was dry. Ditches and <br /> culverts associated with the reclaimed waste disposal site, cover soil stockpile site, and the <br /> topsoil stockpile locations were in good condition and maintained. The waste disposal area <br /> sediment pond was dry (Photograph No. 2).
