M. COMMENTS-COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during the
inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the facts or
evidence supporting the enforcement action.
Processing Waste
The temporary coal waste pile area was inspected and found to be properly maintained. The clean
water diversion ditch around the waste pile and sediment storage area is in good condition and clear of
sediment. The berm around the waste pile is well maintained. The Division has received Minor
Revision No. 47 for exporting coal waste from the temporary waste pile to Snowcap Coal Company's
(SCC's) Roadside Mine CRDA-I. Disposal of refuse from McClane Canyon Mine was approved with
MR-48 for the Roadside Mine in 2001. Page 13-23 of the Roadside Mine permit shows that SCC has
approval to dispose of coal mine waste from the McClane Canyon Mine.
Support Facilities
The shop and facilities areas and office area were well kept. With exception of the shop area collection
ditch noted above, perimeter areas at these locations were well maintained.
