OR GEOTEC <br />Civil, Structural & Geotechnical Engineers <br />CONSTRUCTION OBSERVATION: <br />DRAINAGE BYPASS PIPE AT GOLDEN WONDER MINE FOR LKA INTERNATIONAL <br />HINDSDALE COUNTY, COLORADO <br />August 6, 2009 OBSERVATIONS BY BRIAN RENFROW, P.E. <br />• Bypass pipe is in place and functioning, effectively routing drainage from the rain the <br />previous day. The existing diversion ditch was still in place, but water was routed to the <br />bypass pipe. <br />• Concrete headwall was in place, debris grate needs to be installed over inlet pipe. <br />• Riprap was in place along the entire length of the pipe, needs to installed at inlet. <br />• Traces of limestone were observed in the bedding and backfill. <br />• Water was observed in the collection/sediment basins at upper and lower end of the <br />pipe. <br />• Air vent behind headwall and associated backfill is not complete. <br /> <br />
