The West Rifle 112c permit is located
adjacent to West Rifle the 111 c permit. Gilbert Lee of Central Aggregates accompanied the inspector on site.
The purpose of the inspection was to determine if reclamation work completed since the September 25, 2007
inspection has been successful according to the approved reclamation plan.
The mine is currently active in the northern portion of the permit area. No excavation or material possessing was
taking place during the inspection but various pieces of excavation and processing equipment were observed.
The slopes along the eastern shoreline have been re-graded and appear to meet the required 3H: IV. The vegetation observed includes willows cattails and native grasses.
Reclamation on the east and southern shore commenced prior to January 2005 therefore the area is exempt to
tamarisk and Russian olive abatement..
Various weeds were observed in the permit area. Evidence of implementation of the weed control plan was
observed during the inspection. The Russian Knapweed observed appeared to be stressed from spraying.
Photos that show the conditions observed during the September 23, 2009 inspection are included at the end of this
report.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Travis Marshall at the Division of Reclamation, Mining
and Safety, Grand Junction Field Office, 101 South 3rd Street, Room 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, phone
no. 970-241-2042.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: Gilbert Lee
OPERATOR: Central Aggregates
STREET: P.O.
