Cattany <br />Division Director <br />Natural Resource Trustee <br />Re: Korinek #1 Pit, File No. M-1979-131, Receipt of 112 Construction Materials Reclamation Permit <br />Amendment Application Package Ttlstov-ple,?oz- <br />Dear Mr. Korinek, <br />On September 22, 2009, the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety received your 112 Construction <br />Materials Reclamation Permit Amendment Application package for the Korinek #1 Pit, File No. M-1979-131. <br />Preliminary review of the information received determined that the following items must be received before <br />the Division can consider your application as being submitted and technical review can begin: <br />APPLICATION FORM AND FEE: <br />1.) This application was submitted as an Amendment and not a Conversion. The current permit <br />approved for this site is a 110 Limited Impact Permit and the application intends to change the permit <br />type to a 112 Reclamation Permit. In accordance with Rule 1.11 to change an existing permit to <br />another type of permit such as changing a 110 Limited Impact Permit to a 112 Reclamation Permit a <br />Conversion application will need to be submitted. In general, the materials that were submitted do <br />not need to change, however the operator will need to submit the a new completed copy of the front <br />page of the application with the Conversion box checked and not the Amendment box checked. Also, <br />the fee for a Conversion is $2,696 which is more than what was submitted. Please submit the <br />additional $467 for the Conversion application fee. <br />2.) Item #6 and #7 indicate that Fred Korinek is the only owner of the subsurface rights of the <br />affected and the surface right of the affected land. However, in Exhibit A it states the permit area is <br />also located on property owned by William Gray. Please include his name where it is appropriate for <br />Items #6 and #7 on page 2 of the application. <br />3.)Item #9 on page 2 of the application indicated the center of the mining operation where the <br />majority of the mining will occur will be in Section 19. After reviewing the information submitted with <br />the application, it appears that the mining operation will occur in Section 20 and 21.
