Mike Clements
Wildcat Mining Corporation
3643 Baker Street
San Diego, CA 92117
0;4,. v1a J,?
0?9
?a ear ?
Wally Erickson ?asae o
Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety
?-
691 CR 233, Suite A-2
Durango, CO 81301
Pagel of 3
September 12'h, 2009
Subject: Technical Revision to the May Day Mine Permit 110(2) (reference M-1981-185).
Dear Mr. Erickson:
Wildcat Mining Corporation (WMC) is submitting a `technical revision' (TR) to the permit conditions
associated with the May Day Mine permit (M-1981-185). The following provides a summary of the
additional activities at the May Day which involve the assembly and use of an underground mill facility
that includes crushing, grinding, gravity, flotation, tailings disposal, and additional water quality
monitoring.
All conditions and uses of the surface acreage within the permit boundary will not change. The
production capacity of the mill will not affect the permit conditions already describing the waste
rock and ore processing activities of the site.
• The proposed activities will not affect the hydrologic balance of the project area since only a
small amount of underground water is necessary for the proposed operations. Regardless, as a
pro-active measure we are proposing additional sampling to monitor the setting where needed.
The proposed activities will not change the designated materials aspect of the current permit
conditions since no toxic or acidic reagents will be used in the grinding or flotation processes (see
Attachment B for the MSDS sheets).
Facility Specifications:
The underground facility will be operated in a newly constructed underground drift and will have the
operating capacity of 50 tons per day. The dimensions of the drift can be increased depending on needs
but will be a minimum of 15 ft. wide, 13 ft. high, and 100 ft. long with steel sets placed every 4 ft. down
the length of the drift. All underground construction will be completed in accordance to current MSHA
requirements.
Total water requirements for the facility will consist of approximately 40 gallons per minute. Of this
requirement, over 30 gallons per minute will be recycled from the tailings filtration, leaving only 10
gallons per minute of fresh, make-up water to be consumed during processing. This water will be stored
underground in two, 5,000 gallon tanks. The water source will be from the water that is present in
underground workings at the May Day and may also be hauled in on an as-needed basis from the seep
located within the Idaho permit boundary (see Attachment A, Water Rights held by WMC).
Technical Revision to the May Day Mine Permit, September 12, 2009.
