The required fee of $257.00 for the renewal of this substitute supply plan has been.
submitted (receipt no. 3635506).
Plan Operation
This plan seeks to replace depletions resulting from mining operations at the Shores
gravel pit for 2009. The depletions that result from the mining operation are evaporation, water.
lost in mined product, concrete batching, dust suppression and dewatering. The proposed
replacement sources are reusable water leased from the City of Longmont and 1 share of Rural
Ditch (WDID 0600551). The applicant has bonded through the Division of Reclamation Mining
and Safety for final reclamation of the site.
Depletions '
Ground water is exposed at the site in a four acre silt pond that is used for washing
aggregate, dust control and concrete batching. Based on a net evaporation of 32.13 inches the
total depletion from evaporation is 10.71 acre-feet.
The remaining uses at the site are water lost in mined product, water used for concrete
batching and water used for dust suppression. The plan specifies that 23.83 acre-feet of water
will be removed in 810,000 tons of mined product, 3.33 acre-feet will be required for dust
suppression and 13.1 acre-feet will be required for the production of 106,720 cubic yards of
concrete.
r
Office of the State Engineer
1313 Sherman Street, Suite 818 • Denver, CO 80203 • Phone: 303-866-3581 • Fax: 303-866-3589
www.water.state.co.us
