The operator and landowner commit to not placing any fish species or other species in the post- <br />mining lake that could threaten natural species in any surrounding waters. The operator and <br />landowner will work with the local CDOW office on any concerns that could also be mitigated. <br />6. General Effects of the Operation on the Existing Wildlife of the Area <br />The general effect of the operation on the local wildlife will be beneficial in the long term. The <br />increase in wetland habitat on site will promote an increase in desirable waterfowl and aquatic <br />species, as well as provide additional cover for small mammals. <br />There will be loss of riparian habitat in the original cottonwood groves, which elk and deer use <br />for grazing and cover. <br />Gehrman Pit October 09 H-2
