Task sheet updating <br />All tasks were updated using the unit costs in CIRCES, as of early 2009. New task sheets <br />were prepared in the MT-6 estimate for truck/loader team work tasks and for revegetation <br />tasks. New task sheets were not prepared for the following types of work: dozer, ripper, <br />compaction, excavator, grader, scraper team, or trucking. The cost estimates for these <br />tasks were updated by multiplying in the Cost Summary Sheet the total job time (in <br />hours) for each task by the MT-6 total fleet cost per hour for the type of work. The total <br />job time for each of these tasks is shown on RN-5 task sheets and temporary task sheets <br />from revisions since RN-5, which are included in the MT-6 estimate solely for reference <br />to the total job time. The MT-6 total fleet cost per hour for these equipment tasks was <br />calculated in a sample task sheet prepared for each type of equipment, which also is <br />included in the MT-6 estimate package. <br />Addition of acreage to revegetation sheets <br />Table 1, below, shows acreages that were transferred to MT-6 Task 710 (Revegetating <br />methane drainage wells and other small areas) from the temporary task sheets that had <br />been prepared for individual revisions approved since RN-5. Also, 0.20 acre was <br />transferred to Task 902 (Broadcast seed mix #1, small areas) from the temporary task <br />sheet that had previously been prepared for TR-I 13. <br />Table 3 - Acreages transferred in MT-6 to Task 710 from temporary task sheets <br />Revision Acres <br />TR-109 1.90 <br />MR-342 6.84 <br />MR-343 0.50 <br />TR-108 1.90 <br />MR-347 9.89 <br />MR-352 7.45 <br />Removal of future bond increments from DRMS database <br />The DRMS database shows the current (pre-MT-6) amount of required surety for the <br />West Elk Mine as $15,520,674. This amount includes approximately $1,465,372 that is <br />to be submitted in future increments as methane drainage wells and associated roads are <br />developed over E-seam panels; this amount was added to the DRMS database upon <br />approval of PR-14 in October 2008. To ensure the amount shown in the database is the <br />actual current amount of required surety, the PR-14 liability associated with future <br />increments have been excluded from the MT-6 reclamation cost estimate. <br />cc: Dan Hernandez, DRMS <br />Kathy Welt, Mountain Coal Company
