Cunningham, Michael
From: Waldron, Tony
Sent: Friday, September 04, 2009 3:04 PM
To: Cunningham, Michael
Subject: FW: Permit Violation??
-----Original Message-----
From: Georgia Hand [mailto:glynnhand@agmail.com]
Sent: Friday, September 04, 2009 8:48 AM
To: Waldron, Tony
Subject: Permit Violation??
Attention, Tony Waldron and Michael Cunningham,
This is a request for an inspection on permit #M2002-052 issued to "Two Rivers Rock
Productions" in Weld County. We believe they are using a haul route not approved in the
intial permit. For the last
2-21\2 years this company has been using CR 52 as a haul route to and from land owned and
mined by Craig Sparrow owner of Two Rivers Rock Productions. They have been stock piling dirt
on two separate pieces of land off CR 52. The owner built a road from we believe his mine
thru his land onto CR 52. As many as 4-6 bellydump and tandem dump trucks have been running
from; this road and his land every 15-20
minutes,8-9 hours a day, at times 7 days a week, off his road north,onto CR52, east on CR52 ,
east to CR25, then south on CR25, to hiway 60 then east to where he apparently is stock
piling the dirt, then they come back using the same route.
Weld County Public Works, Planning and Zoning, Traffic Engineering, E.P.A. The sheriff
Dept. and the Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, were contacted starting on Aug 4th,09,
measures have been taken by them to help deal with these issues.
The week of Aug 10th,09 this company was issued a letter informing them they were in
violation, using CR52 as a haul route not zoned for that use, allowing gas and oil companies
to dump sludge on property zoned residential and agriculture only, not following guidelines
for dumping and allowing sludge to contaminate irrigation ditches, stock piling dirt....
Since the letter the trucks are now using another road off the property, west to Hiway
257 then north to CR52 then east on CR52 to CR25.... The volume and frequency of the trucks
have gone down, but our fear is once the heat is off this company, they will resume the
violations of the mining permit and the violations of the zoning and planning department.
Thank you for taking the time to address these issues, if there is any thing more that
I can do to be of any help please contact me at 970-587-0916.
Thank you
Georgia Hand
1
