Exhibit B
2) The operator shall provide the following information:
a) A description of the vegetation and soil characteristics in the area of the
proposed operation acquired from the Elbert County NRSC.
Soil types are the Bresser-Truckton-Blakeland complex, 3 to 9 percent slopes,
map symbol BtD; Wiley and Colby soils, 5 to 18 percent slopes, map symbol WcE; and
Yoder-Truckton-Lismus complex, map symbol Yt.
The area vegetation and types and yields are included in the report attached.
Provided by Ben Hendrix, District Conservationist, stationed at the Simla Field office in
Simla, Colorado.
b) Identify each man-made structure within two hundred (200) feet of the
affected area and the owner of each structure.
The only man-made structure on or within two hundred (200) feet of the
affected area is County Road 189 and barb wire fences, and, if needed, the applicant will
make an agreement with the Elbert County and the neighbor to the west. There will be a
25 foot no-mining buffer zone starting at the 110 permit boundary. Please see Exhibit
"E"-Map.
c) A description of the water resources in the area of the proposed operation.
The proposed operation is located in and west of a drainage "swale" (dry
creek) that flows north to the Big Sandy Creek, and all of the storm water that flows
offsite from the surrounding area will run into a drainage that is a tributary to the Big
Sandy Creek. A Stormwater Discharge Permit will be acquired from the State of
Colorado Water Resources Division that will be designed to prevent any drainage from
the mining area from going into the Big Sandy Creek.
d) A wildlife statement is not required. However it is unlikely that any wildlife
species will be impacted negatively.
