Cattany
Division Director
Natural Resource Trustee
The Division has reviewed the operator's responses to the Division's preliminary adequacy review letter of
July 28, 2009. Twentymile Coal Company's (TCC) responses were received on September 18, 2009. TCC's
responses resolved all of the Division's previous comments (1 through 5). However, the Division has several
additional comments as a result of TCC's responses. The new comments will continue the original
numbering starting with No. 6.
6. Please add to the permit application a prediction of the worst possible consequences of subsidence
impacts to the springs that are located around the western perimeter of the Western Mining District
(shown on the recently submitted copy of Map 15A). Please include a table that is similar to the
partially completed one shown below, and include a description of the method and assumptions used
for predicting drawdowns from new Western District Mining in the table.
Office of
Mined Land Reclamation
Denver • Grand Junction • Durango
Office of
Active and Inactive Mines
