•
r?
6.4.20(7)(d)
There are two groundwater monitoring points within the Ownership Boundary, shown in Exhibit A and E. A
monitoring well has been installed up-gradient and down-gradient of the impoundment. These wells were installed
at a depth of 20' (twenty feet) into solid bedrock. The wells were drilled at 2.375" diameter and cased with nominal
2" perforated HDPE plastic pipe to allow for any recharge/seepage to be measured and/or collected. The pipe was
grouted at the ground surface interface to prevent surface water inclusion. A lockable cap has been installed. There
was no groundwater detected at the time of installation.
Ground water quality will be monitored quarterly at these well locations, both up- and down-gradient of the
impoundment as shown in the Tailings Impoundment Design, Exhibit E. The following monitoring/sampling
parameters shall be followed:
1. Unlock and open security cap.
2. Insert a clean bailer-style sampler (nominally 0.5"-1.5" OD x 12"L) into the casing and lower via a clean,
nylon cord.
3. Let the sampler reside at the bottom of the casing (20'-25') for at least 2 minutes.
4. Carefully pull the sampler back to the surface.
5. Label a new clean bottle and complete the report with the following data:
a. Date/time of sample
b. Location, Up- or Down-Gradient
c. Approx. depth of liquid level in bailer, in inches from bottom of borehole.
"Dry"
d. If none collected, record on report
e. Sampler's signature
6. Pour any contents into the labeled, clean, plastic sampling bottle.
7. The sample report shall be recorded with the Venture Resources office.
8. Any collected water will be forwarded to an independent analytical laboratory that can perform the
following tests
a. RCRA metals, total concentration
b. pH
9. Returned lab results will be attached to the appropriate field report and maintained at the Venture
Resources office. This data will be preserved for the entire life of the operations.
10. In the event that data is received indicating a problem, ie reported levels are higher than the baseline values
established in Exhibit C, operations shall be ordered CEASED until the problem can be identified and
corrected.
Permit om lance im ,
Metal
Limit
Limit mg1l
Justification
micro iter milli s/liter
Arsenic, As 10 0.01 Historic Big 5
Barium, Ba 2000 2 Domestic Water Std.
Cadmium, Cd 48 0.048 Historic Big 5
Chromium Cr 100 0.1 Domestic Water Std.
Copper, Cu 2960 2.96 Historic Big 5
Lead, Pb 91 0.091 Historic Big 5
Manganese, Mn 32,200 32.2 Historic Bi 5
Mercury, H 2 0.002 Domestic Water Std.
Selenium, Se 50 0.05 Domestic Water Std.
Silver, A 50 0.05 Domestic Water Std.
Zinc, Zn 9770 9.77 Historic Big 5
C 1' L' its Based on Historic & Current Big 5 Tunnel Dischar e*
*Note: It is necessary to apply a dilution factor of 1:3 to lab analysis or puoc piant samp?es m urucr w wiicia?c u,
data to proposed Mobile Mill operations.
