2.04.7(1)
• (iv) No other existing wells or ground water
developments are known in or adjacent to the permit area. The
water pumped from BW-1 and BW-3 is being used by the Applicant to
fill stock ponds.
The water bearing strata surfaces along the
steep cliffs north of the permit area. Spring SP-2 is located in
this formation. One adjudicated spring is adjacent to the permit
area. It is in the SESWSE of Section 29 and is know as the B & W
Spring No. 1. The use of this spring is unknown.
(v) Results from the water quality monitoring
data, consistent with the Division's parameters, are shown in
Exhibit 3.
Ibl There is no recharge source to the aquifer in or
adjacent to the permit area. The recharge source is not known
but is apparently some distance to the south of the permit area.
The water resources from the aquifer within the permit area are
inadequate for domestic or agricultural use as demonstrated from
the low yields experienced from BW-2. The aquifer discharges at
the five springs located adjacent to the permit area at the Burro
Canyon-Morrison contact. The drilling log data on BW-2 shows that
the potentiometric surface of the aquifer to be at the Burro
Canyon-Morrison contact. The reason for the low potentiometric
surface shown in BW-2 is due to its proximity to the discharge
• region. It was drilled within the influence area of the drawdown
caused by the discharging springs.
A search of the Office of the State Engineer was
conducted for any wells in the permit area and none where regis-
tered. The search uncovered three wells in the San Miguel River
basin in section 29 used as water supply for the town of Naturita
but they are not considered to be adjacent to the permit area.
The location of the wells in the area is shown on the Water
Rights Location Map, Drawing No. 111.
• 2.04-13
