vegetated, but a 2' tall berm will be built around it to isolate from the neighboring drainage and
prevent discharge of stormwater.
•
•
Map F shows all the final contours and reclamation planned for the site. Both access roads will
be left intact so that landowner has access to the reclaimed areas. Map C-3 shows the cross-
sections of the reclaimed terrain compared with the original and the mining terrain.
Since Korinek has committed to only having 10 acres of the permit area exposed at any time, the
worst case bond scenario can occur anytime throughout the life of the mine and the bond will be
identical. There are no foundations or other structures which will be required to be removed with
the reclamation process, so the only tasks will involve regrading and topsoiling of the disturbed
areas. The reclamation timetable is shown below in Section 2 in Table E-2 and the worst case
scenario is calculated in Exhibit L: Reclamation Costs.
Table E-1
Area
(acres) Material needed
to reclaim (CY)
Phase 1 5.7 4,558
Phase 2 2.2 1,759
Phase 3 2.4 1,920
Phase 4 2.7 2,154
Phase 5 3.1 2,485
Phase 6 1.9 1,517
Phase 7 2.2 1,807
Phase 8 2.3 1,855
Phase 9 2.2 1,750
Total 24.6 19,804
2. Reclamation Timetable
The mine timetable including reclamation is shown above in Table D-2 in Exhibit D: Mining
Plan. Exhibit L: Reclamation Costs describes the worst case bond scenario.
Korinek #1 Pit August 2009 E-2
