(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: hA-1979-9in
INSPECTION DATE: 2/9m9 INSPECTOR=S INITIALS: MAC
OBSERVATIONS
The inspection was conducted by Michael Cunningham of the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and
Safety (Division). John Goodman of Morgan County was also present for the inspection. The Vancil Pit is
located approximately 6 miles northwest of Snyder, Colorado. The site is permitted for 68.70 acres.
The inspection of the Vancil Pit was carried out as part of the Division's regular monitoring inspection. The
permit sign was posted at the entrance to the site and the boundaries of the affected area were clearly delineated
per Rule 3.1.12. The mined material is screened and stockpiled until it can be hauled for use on the county
roads. Active mining is taking place near the southeast corner of the permit area. The topsoil has been stripped
and stockpiled near the site entrance; the stockpile is vegetated and did not show any signs of erosion. The
overburden is stockpiled to the west of the active mining operation; overburden is hauled into town for crushing.
The screener has been set up in the southeast corner of the permit area, near the active mining area. The
southern pit wall has been graded and vegetated; the mine access road runs along the top of the slope.
No problems or violations were noted during the inspection.
This concluded the inspection.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: John Goodman
OPERATOR: Morgan County
STREET: 17303 County Rond S
CITY/STATE/ZIP: Fort Morpon" CQ 80701
