Sherman
Executive Director
Ronald W. Cattany
Division Director
Natural Resource Trustee
The Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety (DRMS) has begun the review process for the above
referenced application. A PAR has been completed. The attached worksheet notes only two issues that
need to be addressed. It appears DRMS only needs the final proof of publication affidavit and a
clarification that topsoil will be seeded if left in place for more than 180 days. These issues are noted as
"bold italics" in the review worksheet.
Please find enclosed comments received from the Office of Archaeology and Historic Preservation for
the permitee's records. The comments are general in nature and the operator must note the
requirements should archeological interest be discovered.
Staff notes the public comment period is over on September 29, 2009. If the above issues are addressed
and no objections are received DRMS will be able to make a decision shortly thereafter.
If you need additional information please contact me at the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety,
Grand Junction Field Office, 101 S. 3rd St., Suite 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, or by telephone
no. 970.241.1117.
Sincerely,
G.
