There is one remaining item that will
need to be clarified prior to the approval the amendment.
In regards to item #14, a document was submitted for a weed management plan. This
document explains how a weed management plan is prepared and various tables were
enclosed for monitoring weed infestation, treatments and treatment effectiveness. A list of
noxious weeds and a description of the various management techniques that could be
employed to treat the species was included. The information provided for the control of the
species is adequate. However, no actual monitoring, implementation and posttreatment
monitoring plan was submitted for this site. To correct this, please explain how often the site
will be monitored for noxious weeds (monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly...etc.) listed in the
submitted document. Please explain what steps will occur if weeds species are observed at the
site. For example, once a noxious weed is noted, an appropriate control method will be used
based on the information submitted. Finally, please explain how the weed species will be
monitored after they have been treated to determine effectiveness.
Office of Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Denver • Grand Junction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
