The compaction of topsoil and overburden stockpiles is one requirements of the State
Health Department to control dusts from the stockpiles. Any topsoil that will remains
in a stockpile for a period longer than one year will be seeded. The following seed
mix will be used to seed the stockpiles:
SPECIES #PLS/Acre
Alkali Sacaton 3.0
Inland Saltgrass 3.0
Indian Ricegrass 3.0
Western Wheatgrass 3.5
2. The damage agreement between GJ Pipe and JAK Ventures was to include the gazebo
and the garage which are located adjacent to Pit #5. These are the only structures
within 200 feet of the affected land. Stockpiles of overburden and topsoil will be
setback a minimum of 15 feet from the highwalls. Mesa County code requires a 30
foot setback from adjacent property lines for mining and stockpiles. This condition
only occurs on the south side of Pit #1 at the Reed Property line.
If you have any further questions or need additional information please contact me.
Sincerely,
Edward J Se le
