1 12 APPLICATION PAGE 23 OF 35 <br />0 6.4.10 EXHIBIT J - Vegetation Information <br />PART 1 <br />(a) Description of present vegetation types, which include quantitative estimate of cover and height for <br />principal species in each life form represented (i. e., trees, tall shrubs, low shrubs, grasses, fortis) <br />Vegetation on the project site is sparse. Vegetation species within the mining <br />area consist of Russian knapweed (Acroptilon repens), kochia (Kochia scoparia), <br />Russian thistle (Solsola kali), cheatgrass (Bromus tectorum), annual wheatgrass <br />(Eremopyrum triticeum), foxtail barley (Hordeum jubatum), and saltgrass (Distichlis <br />spicata). Also scattered within the mining area are Rio Grande cottonwoods <br />(Populus deltoids) and salt cedar (Tamarix spp.). <br />See Exhibit C.2 for locations. <br />(b) the relationship of present vegetation types to soil types, or the information may be presented on a map. <br />See attached information in Exhibit C.2 for locations. <br />(c) If range or agriculture post mine use is proposed, provide estimated yields: <br />Range or agriculture uses are not proposed. <br />PART 2 <br />• The operator shall show the relation of the types of vegetation to existing topography on a map in Exhibit C. <br />In providing such information, the operator may wish to contact the soil conservation service. <br />Existing trees and the shrub line are shown on Exhibit C.l <br />0
