Cattany <br /> Division Director <br />Re: Deserado Mine (Permit No. C-1981-018) Natural Resource Trustee <br />Permit Revision Application No. 6 (PR-6) <br />Adding Additional 760 Acres to Permit Area <br />Dear Rio Blanco County Commissioners: <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 118, <br />Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on April 2, 2008, a permit revision application for a permit to conduct coal <br />mining operations, Permit No. C-1981-018 by Blue Mountain Energy, Inc, was considered complete for the purposes of filing. <br />All review and comment periods as provided in the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act and the Rules and <br />Regulations of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board for Coal Mining initiate from this date of filing. <br />The Deserado Mine has submitted a permit revision to increase it's permit boundary by 760 acres. The mine is also proposing a <br />change to it's mining plan to incorporate the additional acreage. No new surface disturbances are proposed. <br />The underground coal mining operation is located approximately 7 miles Northeast of Rangely, Colorado. The permit area is <br />further described as follows: <br />Portions of Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 10, 11, and 12, T2N, RI01 W, 6th PM, all in Rio Blanco County; Portions of Sections 21, 23, <br />25, 26, 27, 28, 30, 31, 34, 35, and 36, T3N, R101 W, 6th PM; All of Sections 22, 29, 32, and 33, T3N, RIO 1 W, 6th PM, all in <br />Rio Blanco County. <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Rangely NE and Cactus Reservoir. <br />A copy of the revision application is available for public inspection at the Rio Blanco County Commissioners.
