Sherman
Executive Director
Ronald W. Cattany
Division Director
Natural Resource Trustee
The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (Division) is unable to issue Succession
of Operator No. 3 (SO-3) for the Bowie No. 2 Mine. During the final check of the Applicant Violator
System (AVS) for SO-3, a deny recommendation was made by the system due to unpaid Abandoned
Mined Lands (AML) fees at the Bowie No. 2 Mine. These unpaid AML fees must be paid and the
AVS updated before the Division can issue SO-3 or approve any other permitting actions by Bowie
Resources LLC. which require AVS approval.
Please keep the Division informed as to the progress in resolving this problem.
If you have any questions, please call me.
Sincerely,
tose4phJ. dash
Environmental Protection Specialist
cc: Jim Stover P.E.
