Introduction
GCC Rio Grande, Inc. of Pueblo, Colorado is applying to the
Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety to extract,
process and ship gypsum from approximately 560 acres of State of
Colorado land located in Section 26, Township 17 South, Range 68
West in northeastern Fremont County, Colorado currently permitted as
a 110 Permit M-1997-064. GCC was approved by Succession of
Operators on March 5, 2009 to assume reclamation responsibility from
the former permittee Western Nutrients Inc. This operation will be the
Salt Canyon Project.
