Some of the BMP's to be applied to this feature are as follows:
Typical maintenance activities for dry detention ponds
Activity
* Note erosion of pond banks and bottom
* Inspect for damage to the embankment
* Monitor for sediment accumulation in the facility
* Examine to ensure that inlet and pond are free of
debris and operational
* Repair undercut or eroded areas
* Remove litter and debris
* Remove sediment from the pond
* Monitor sediment accumulations, and
remove sediment when the pond volume
has been reduced by 25 percent
Schedule
Semi-annual inspection
Annual inspection
Maintenance as needed
Rule 6.4.12 Exhibit L- Reclamation Cost
22.) The highwall of this pit is approximately 1800 feet in length
currently, however during the routine task of mining (excavating) this pit the bulk of
the highwall will be reduced to a slope of 3h:ly of flatter to facilitate the
final reclamation. However since the pit is not in a period of high
production currently the applicant/operator will start reducing the highwall
when the next stage of mining starts. The operator / applicant commits to
this method of mining technique for the life of the mine. Therefore in
the calculation of the financial warranty cost a length of 400 feet will be used.
23.) The side slopes will be graded to approximately 3h:ly of flatter please see
revised Reclamation Plan Map Exhibit F attached with this adequacy review reply.
24.) With the revision to the reclamation plan the operator will disturb approximately
30 % of the total permit area for the purpose of calculating the financial
warranty cost. Therefore the 7.5 acres will be used for the purpose
of calculating the bonding dollar amount. Please see the Mining Plan Map and
the Reclamation Plan Map for the location on site.
Rule 6.4.13 Exhibit M- Other Permits and Licenses
25.)
1.) This pit does not have a stormwater discharge permit from the
Colorado Department of Public Health and environment (CDPHE).
The operator will obtain a CDPS GENERAL PERMIT for Stormwater
Discharges Associated with Sand and Gravel Mining under the Colorado
6
