The Colowyo Coal Company
has sumbitted a Technical Revision for the
Colowyo Mine to construct a new haul road
to the South Taylor Pit. The proposed haul
road will replace the current haul road
through the former Section 16 Pit. This road
is considered an in-pit road for the purposes
of design, construction and bonding require-
ments. There is no proposed change to the
mine's disturbance boundary or permit
boundary with this revision. There will not be
any increase in the mine's reclamation liabil-
ity as a result of this revision.
The Colowyo Coal Mine is a surface coal
mine located in Moffat County, approxi-
mately 28 miles south of Craig, Colorado.
Coal interest is Federal, and the surface af-
fected is Federal, state and private land. The
permit area encompasses approximately
12,250.95 acres.
This proposed decision is based on a finding
that the proposed operation will comply with
all requirements of the Colorado Surface
Coal Mining Reclamation Act, Section 34 33
101, at seq., C.R.S., and the regulations
promulgated thereunder.
Copies of the proposed decision, including
stipulations, are on file for public inspection
at the Colorado Division of Reclamation,
Mining and Safety, Room 215, Centennial
Building, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Col-
orado 80203. Persons with an interest that
may be adversely affected by the proposed
decision may request a formal hearing before
the Mined Land Reclamation Board on the
proposed decision. Such request must be
made within ten (10) days of the initial publi-
cation of this notice, must be in writing, and
must state with reasonable specificity the
reasons for the request and the objections to
the proposed decision.
Published in The Craig Daily Press
Pu tication pate: Au ust 17+ii 2009.r
104 28`Si* t
.., . d'.t .C.UG it:'4"r'
