ANNUAL REPORT
PERMIT NO: M-1986-124
CECIL II GRAVEL PIT
REPORT:
This permit was transferred from Washington County to Popejoy Construction on January 25,
1995. - This permit was then transferred from Popejoy Construction Co., Inc., on September 24,
2007.
The site is located on the Arickaree River just northeast of Cope, Colorado. Popejoy
Construction mined a small amount of sand and gravel from the pit in 1996 for use in a nearby
highway project. The mined area was all located in the existing bed of the Arickaree River, and
the pit area was back-sloped when mining was completed.
The permitted area is 9.9 acres. Since no new disturbances or reclamation have occurred during
the past year, and no new changes to the previous map are necessary, no new map is enclosed.
The last pit inspection was done by Deb. E. Gonima on August 16, 2006. The observation was
that no major work remains to be completed, and we continue awaiting landowner release of
three minor items as requested by the inspector Gonima.
Since we estimate no additional reclamation costs will be required, the bond security of $7,500 is
sufficient.
Report submitted Sept. 5, 2009.
Donald Gi2jj y
Permittee
