This mining proposal was submitted on July
27, 2009 to the BLM and the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety in the format of
a hard rock and metal mining limited impact operation 110(2).
We requested additional information on August 4, 2009, based on requirements in the 43 CFR 3809
regulations and that additional information has been submitted. We have reviewed this additional
information and have also contacted you on the phone for clarification of that information. We have
determined that the information you have provided is substantially complete and we are accepting
your proposal as adequate for subsequent analysis. Your proposal will be analyzed in an
environmental assessment. This analysis and decision will be completed prior to your subsequent
permit review process that you will need to complete with the Colorado Division of Reclamation,
Mining, and Safety.
We are currently planning to hold a public meeting in the Fairplay area in September or October of
this year for the purpose of obtaining information from the public that can be used in our analysis of
the proposed project. Thank you for your assistance and cooperation in helping us develop an
understanding of your proposal. We anticipate that we will be contacting you with additional
questions in the next few months when they arise.
Sincerely,

f- Linda McGlothlen
--- Acting Field Manager
Royal Gorge Field Office
Y,
CC: David Bird, Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety
