<br />a technical revision to. the Division of
<br />Reclamation, Mining & Safety for its
<br />approved Bowie No. 2 Mine, mining
<br />permit no. C-1996-083. The proposed
<br />revision will incorporate drawings
<br />into the permit application package
<br />that show an increase in height of
<br />coal mine waste disposal area #4,
<br />and will also update the surface
<br />water drainage configuration. Bowie
<br />Resources, LLC demonstrates with
<br />the included Geotechnical stability
<br />analysis that slopes as steep as
<br />3H:1 V for the upper portions of coal
<br />mine waste disposal area number 4
<br />will provide a factor of safety of 1.5,
<br />both during and after construction,

<br />Most of the mine facilities are located
<br />north of Bowie Road near the town
<br />of Bowie, CO. A pump station, three

<br />The Bowie No. 2 Mine permit contains
<br />5,865 acres of land, 2,612 acres of
<br />private surface and 3,253 acres of
<br />Federal surface. Private minerals
<br />within the proposed permit area
<br />encompass 1,957 acres.with, Federal
<br />minerals accounting for the balance
<br />of 3,908 acres.
<br />A copy of the proposed revision is
<br />available for public inspection at the
<br />Paonia Public Library, 2 Third Street,
