(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: X986-inn)
INSPECTION DATE: 8./90409 INSPECTOR=S INITIALS: -MAC
OBSERVATIONS
The inspection was conducted by Michael Cunningham of the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
(Division). Vernon Dilley of Dilleys Sand & Gravel was also present for the inspection. The Vondy Pit is
located 13 miles north of Snyder, Colorado on Highway 71. The site is permitted for 9.9 acres.
This inspection was carried out as part of the Division's regular monitoring program. The permit sign was
I. I ' 2. No mining was
posted at the entrance to the site and the permit boundary was clearly delineated per Ruie 3.'
taking place during the inspection; onsite equipment consisted of a single dragline located on top of the south pit
wall. According to Mr. Dilley, material was removed from the pit earlier in the year. The pit walls are between
10 and 12 feet in height and are near vertical. Topsoil has been stockpiled outside of the pit along west and
south sides; the topsoil stockpiles have been vegetated and do not show any signs of erosion. The perimeter of
the pit was traversed with a Trimble GeoXT GPS unit to determine the size of the disturbed area. The total
disturbed area was determined to be 5.92 acres in size.
The Division currently holds a financial warranty in the amount of $6,300.00, which has been determined to be
sufficient to complete reclamation at this site.
This concluded the inspection.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: Vernon Dilley
OPERATOR: Dilleys Sand & Gravel
STREET: 1914 Fdrnonds St-
CITY/STATE/ZIP: Brush.
