Cattany <br /> Division Director <br />San Diego, CA 92116 Natural Resource Trustee <br />Re: Seneca II-W Mine (Permit No. C-1982-057) <br />Bond Release Revision: SL-2 <br />Phase I Bond Release Application <br />Dear Ms. Friederich: <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety has received a Phase 1 bond release application (SL-2) <br />for the Seneca II-W Mine. The application was called complete on August 27, 2009. <br />Seneca Coal Company, LLC has submitted a request for Phase I Bond Release on 1,166.2 acres of <br />regraded lands within the Seneca II-W permit area. The request applies to a major portion of the <br />disturbed/reclaimed land within the permit area, including approximately 1152 acres of land regraded to <br />approximate original contour, and 14.2 acres of permanent roads. The operator is requesting release of <br />$4,864,928.00 of bond, from the total bond amount of $11,117,348.00.
