MONTROSE, COLORADO CLIMATE INFORMATION <br />Montrose is situated in the Uncompahgre Valley with the 14,000 foot San Juan <br />Mountains to the south, the 10,000 foot Uncompahgre Plateau to the west, the Grand <br />Mesa to the north and the Black Canyon National Park to the east. The surrounding high <br />mountain barriers afford the valley uniformity of weather and lower wind velocity than <br />other portions of Colorado. Most winds occur during the months of April and early May. <br />Both summer and winters are mild and there is minimal snow accumulation in the are of <br />the city.
