WILDLIFE INFORMATION
The primary use of the expansion is rangeland. While the parcels map provide browsing
and cover from some wildlife, the extensive irrigated land to the northeast along the flood
plane of the Uncompahgre River should easily supplement the loss of the feed for
browsing wildlife.
There are no threatened or endangered species known to inhabit the proposed expansion
sites. A list of the major species in the area is as follows:
BIRD
Morning Dove
Meadowlark
Owls
Killdeer
Magpie
Band-tailed Pigeon
LARGE MAMMALS
Mule Deer
Coyote
Raccoon
Fox
REPTILES
Garter Snake
Horned Lizard
Rattlesnake
Western Fence Lizard
RODENT
Prairie Dog
Pocket Gopher
Chipmunk
Jackrabbit
White-footed Mouse
Ground Squirrels
Cotton Tail Rabbit
Voles
