slopes and re-seeded pending final reclamation of the pit as an on-line stormwater detention facility to be permanently <br />maintained by the County. <br />f) The estimated thickness of gravel-bearing zones varies from between 0 and 40 feet thick at the Pierce <br />North site. The gravel deposits at the Pierce North site decrease in thickness to the east and west of the Lone Tree Creek <br />channel being confined to the incised, backfilled channel. No high wall mining is anticipated. The thickness of <br />overburden to be removed during gravel extraction is expected to be minimal. Therefore. minimal stockpiling of <br />overburden is anticipated. Mined soils unsuitable for construction use will be separated from the mined gravels and may <br />be stockpiled at the site. These soil stockpiles will be utilized for excavation backfill and site reclamation. <br />g) Sand gravel and clay are the principle and only commodities to be mined. <br />h) Gravel and sand extracted from the Pierce North site will be utilized by Weld County Public Works <br />Department for repair and maintenance of local County roads and other County construction projects. Soils and mined <br />materials unsuitable for road construction may be stockpiled at the site. These soil stockpiles may be utilized for <br />excavation backfill and site reclamation on County-operated projects.
