EXHIBIT E - Reclamation Plan
The pit will be re-seeded, as recommended by the attached Phillips County MRCS
seeding recommendation, when completed. The site will be used for a wildlife habitat
area. Each of the four areas will be re-seeded after mining has been completed in that
area.
a) The stockpiled overburden will be spread over the mined area. The
overburden will be taken down to the bottom of the mined area and then worked
so that a 3:1 slope is established on the sidewalls.
b) The stockpiled topsoil will be spread evenly over the prepared area. All
topsoil will be replaced before seeding of the pit occurs. The amount of
topsoil available varies depending upon the soil type originally covering the
mined area. Between the two different soil types, topsoil depth ranged from
5" to 10". All of the stockpiled topsoil will be returned, but the depth could
vary depending on what was stockpiled in that particular area.
c) Slopes no greater than 3:1 will be left in the completed pit.
d) Any internal haul roads will be reclaimed as the pit is closed. There are no
access roads to the pit that will be reclaimed.
e) The owner has also requested that we plant trees in rows on the north and west
boundaries during reclamation. We will work with the Division of Wildlife
and NRCS to determine the best tree planting for a wildlife area. The owner
would like a low area left in the bottom which will serve as a sump or trap for
small amounts of rain water for wildlife in the area.
