reclamation seed mix shown in the table. The site will be sprayed with weed-controlling
herbicides (if needed) and mowed for a period of not less that two growing seasons to
ensure success of the revegetation. Thereafter, ASCI will maintain the reclaimed site to
ensure that no nuisance conditions are present and that the cover remains
uncompromised. Post-closure uses at the site (agricultural) will ensure that no
disturbance to the fill will occur. Total disturbed areas (the affected area) can be seen on
Exhibit C-2, the amended Mine Plan Map and Exhibit F, the amended Reclamation Plan
Map. The total area to be revegetated is approximately 52 acres.
Reve etg ation
All topsoiled/clean fill dirt surface areas disturbed by mining activities will be drill-
seeded for final reclamation with the seed mix shown in the table.
The method of seeding, seeding dates, fertilization, and follow-up maintenance for weed
control by mowing will be performed on the permit area exactly as approved for the
current permit. Mowing will be performed as needed after seeding to help establish
regenerating stands of grasses and to control weed infestation. Seeded areas may be
mulched with straw or hay mulch as determined at the time of seeding. The post-
reclamation land use for the permit area will be agricultural.
TABLE: SEED MIX - Permanent Mix for Disturbed Areas
COMMON NAME
GRASSES
VARIETY 1 PLS
LB/AC PERCENT (%)
OF MIX 3
Western wheatgrass Arriba or Barton 8.0 50
Sideoats grams Vaughn 4.5 30
Blue grama Hachita or Lovington 1.5 20
'Availability may dictate the need for variety substitution or species omission.
2 Pure Live Seed pounds per acre; rates shown are for drill seeding.
