The A.?R was received
on January ??, 2009 and contains water quantity and ?ualrty data for the 20??-2005 water year.
One report is submitted for both mines since they are in close proximity and the surface water
and groundwater monitoring programs are essentially combined for the two sites.
The frequency of data collection far surface and groundwater is in compliance with the appra?red
monitoring plan contained ?n the permit document. with exception of a few surface water
samples, all required monitoring data were collected and reported. During the 4`? quarter X007
water quality samples were not obtained from surface water sites w-1 and -S due to low
flow conditions and water quality samples were not tal?en at sites -2 and Sw-5 due to dry
conditions In Mclane creek.
There was no discharge from the Munger sediment pond throughout the water year and only one
discharge from the Mc?lane sediment pond ?n February 200$. Mine inflow water was
discharged from the mine during the water year. Outfall ?02A at Mclane Mine provides for
discharge from the underground mine to East Snit Creel. According to the report mine water
was discharged to East salt Creep in February, March, May and June of 2005 totaling
approximately 1.1 rriilllon gallons with the rennainder ofmine inflow water being consumed in
the mine or used outside to water roads, Although there 1s also a permitted CDPS mine
discharge outfall at Munger banyan, there i no mine discharge to the surface from the Munger
Mine site. All discharge n]on?tor?ng and reporting is done 1n accordance with e ?? Permits
for each site.
The Probable ?ydrolagic Consequences ?PI?C} discussion in the permit document and the
Division's previous findings indicate that mine discharge will have a small impact on East Salt
Creek. The AHR states that the rn?nes well have no s1gn?ficant effect on the quantity and qua??ty
Office of 0{f ice oi:
Mined Land Reclamation Denver # Grand function ?
