Hernandez, Daniel
From: Hernandez, Daniel
Sent: Wednesday, November 28, 2007 4:03 PM
To: 'bheesen@wwcengineering.com'
Cc: 'tsummers@wwcengineering.com'
Subject: Edna Minor Revision MR-53 Adequacy Comments
Hi, Beth -
Here are my adequacy issues. A formal letter is forthcoming.
1. Please provide the information required by Rules 2.05.5(1)(a)(iii) and 2.05.5( requiring comments from
surface owners and State and local agencies regarding the proposed retention of he West Ridge Diversion Ditch.
2. With regard to my concern as to whether the West Ridge Diversion Ditch is currently designed to safely pass
the peak runoff from a 10-year, 24-hour storm event as required by Rule 4.05.3(3), you directed me over the
phone today to Page 4.6-96 of the Edna Mine permit. This page states that the West Ridge Diversion Ditch "was
designed to route inflow due to a 10-year, 24-hour storm and pumping from the pits from West Ridge drainage
area into the (West Ridge) sediment pond". This page references two Exhibits and two Tables in the Edna
permit. I will review those Exhibits and Tables tomorrow and verify the designs. Thanks.
At this point, I have no other adequacy concerns.
Sincerely,
Dan
11/29/2007
