.a <br />amec <br />Earth & Environmental <br />VLF EARTHWORKS FIELD MONITORING SUMMARY (WEEKLY REPORT) <br />Project Title: CC&V/ Phase 5 <br />Owner: Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mining Co. <br />Location: Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mine <br />Project No.: 84201125EO <br />Contractor: Ames Construction Co., Inc. <br />Shift: Day/Night <br />Work Element: Phase 5 CQA/ VLF <br />Date: August 1, 2009 <br />Reporting Period: 07/26/09 through 08/01/09 <br />Days S M T W T F S <br />Work Shifts - D D D D D - <br /> <br />D = Day Shift N = Night Shift <br />Ambient Temperature Range (F): Low: 42°F to 46°F (+/-) High: 61 ° F to 74° F (+/-) <br />AMEC CQA: Personnel On-site through the Reporting Period (See Attachment A). <br />AMES: No delays due to weather. Ames has suspended night shift construction activities for the next two <br />weeks. <br />CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES and PROGRESS: <br />II) EARTHWORKS <br />A) Clearing and Grubbing <br />1) VLF <br />Tree removal from the east slope of the Phase 5 VLF footprint continued using a CAT 345 <br />excavator and 40-ton articulating haul trucks. The removed trees and slash were placed in the <br />Dump 4 slash stockpile. <br />B) Topsoil Relocation <br />1) VLF <br />Topsoil relocation was performed using a John Deere 850 excavator to load 40-ton articulating <br />haul trucks northeast of the existing substation. The topsoil was hauled to the lower topsoil <br />stockpile, south of the LOB Delivery Road. A CAT D-6 dozer was used to maintain the <br />stockpile. <br />C) Subgrade Preparation <br />1) VLF <br />Subgrade preparation was performed between stations A30+00 (+/-) and A34+00 (+/-), <br />approximately 200 to 300 feet left of centerline and between stations J9+00 (+/-) and J13+00 <br />(+/-), approximately 200 to 300 feet left of centerline. A CAT D-9 dozer was used to rip the <br />subgrade surface to a depth of 6" to 8". The subgrade was then moisture conditioned using a <br />CAT 773 water tuck (when necessary) and compacted using a 10-ton vibratory smooth drum <br />Sheet 1 of 8 <br />VLF Weekly Report WE 08.01.09.D.doc
