STATE OF COLORADO
DIVISION OF RECLAMATION, MINING AND SAFETY
Department of Natural Resources
1313 Sherman St., Room 215
Denver, Colorado 80203
Phone: (303) 866-3567
FAX: (303) 832-8106
COLORADO
D I V I S I O N OF
RECLAMATION
MINING
SAFETY
INTEROFFICE Bill Ritter, Jr.
Governor
MEMORANDUM Harris D. Sherman
Executive Director
Ronald
TO: Joe Dudash W. Catt
Division Director
or
Natural Resource Trustee
FROM: Jim Stark
SUBJECT: Bowie No. 2 Mine's MR-108 Cost Estimate
DATE: 6 August 2009
Attached is the reclamation cost estimate for Bowie No. 2 Mine's Minor Revision 108 -
installation of a Quonset but at the Hubbard Creek Fan site. The estimate is two tasks (a
summary sheet and task 351) and represents an increase in liability of $7,249.000. The
Division's estimate is slightly more than ($169.00) the estimate submitted by BRL (of
$7,080.00). The reason for this is the Division recently updated the costs in CIRCES and
BRL is still using the older costs.
One item of note is that this estimate was calculated with the assumption that the
structure that Bowie would be building is, in fact, a "real" Quonset hut. If not, the
demolition costs will increase slightly (approximately $1,000) due to the increase in
building volume for a "regular" building versus a Quonset hut.
Please let me know if you have any questions or need any additional information.
cc: Sandy Brown w/out attachments
Office of Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Denver • Grand lunction • Durango Artivo. and InartivP Mina
