• Mine Dewatering Drill Pad
North Decline Dewatering Pipe
Drill Pad and Reclaimed Drill Pad
Calculation Rational and Results Summary
Rational:
Calculated using SEDCAD'"" 4 for Windows
Areas, slopes and flow paths obtained from electronic media, Figure 14-8.
Curve Number
89 -Since small drainage areas are involved a curve number of 89 was used
for the drill pad and the upland drainage area. The upland drainage area
is heavily disturbed by the UTE Water pipeline installation.
10 year 24 hour storm event of 1.4" used for all run-off calculations
Flow from upland areas will be diverted around the drill pad and the reclaimed drill pad
by berms that are at least 1.5 feet high. Run-off volumes are small. Calculations on
• the following pages indicate a v-ditch with 1.5H:1 V side slopes 0.5 feet deep including
freeboard will handle the upland flow.
Run-off from the drill pad and reclaimed drill pad will be collected by berms and directed
to a 48-foot long silt fence. Run-off volumes are small. Run-off collection berms will be
at least 1.5 feet high.
The berm and silt fence layout and are presented on Figure 14-8.
ENGINEER'S CERTIFICATION
The SEDCAD calculations and information presented on pages 14-6-74 through 14-6-
75 were prepared by me,~l~~~~gionth of January 2001, and the information
presented is true andp~Ri~it'~D't~f~st of my knowledge and belief.
P.E.
al Engineer
~. 19230
A' E~.
•
14-6-74 (Rev. 01 /01)
