Structure Location Construction Dates
Light Use Road 6 RSS Exhibits 57 & 58 1983 -1992
Description -This road provides access to the 2 West Portal area of the Roadside
South Portals. The road extends from its junction with Access Road 3, to the 2 West
Portals.
Design and Construction -The road to the 2 West Portal was an existing BLM access
road that follows the existing topography with minimal grading. The road has only a
slight grade change and meanders to avoid natural obstructions. The road is one lane
with widths from 10' to 15'. Minor grading and drainage control was done on this road
in 1992. The road to the portals is used once a week to check the portal substation and
area.
Drainage -Due to the Light use of the road, the drainage control primarily consists of
graveling natural drainages across the road. The location of these cross drains is
shown on Exhibit 57.
Surfacing -The road surface for most of this light use road is dirt or existing rock
surfaces.
Maintenance -The road is graded occasionally to eliminate ruts and to promote
drainage. Additional water bars or gravel will be installed as necessary to minimize
erosion.
•
PR-4 T13-2-12 Rev 07/07
