structure. In order for Pond 4 to be retained as a permanent impoundment under Rule
4.05.9, the reclamation plan would need to be revised.
We also discussed the location of the revegetation reference area. The landowners
expressed some concerns about the appropriateness of the reference area for comparison
to the reclaimed area. This issue has been recently discussed with vegetation consultants
employed by EFCI and the Division. Since this issue has been previously identified, the
Division will investigate the specifics concerning this issue outside the context of the
inspection process. Documentation will be provided to the landowners under separate cover.
Following a brief discussion the joint inspection with the landowners was terminated.
Processing Waste
The Refuse Disposal
Area (RDA)was
traversed on foot.
Three metal stakes
were found and
removed by hand
(shown at right).
Others may exist and
should be removed as
ground conditions
allow.
Revegetation
Revegetated areas
appeared generally
lush and healthy.
Some warm season
grasses were
flowering and setting
seed heads.
Cattle were not
observed on the
reclaimed area or in
adjacent areas near w-_
the mine site. i =
5
