Moffat area looking towards South. Steve leach next to patch of Perennlal pepperweed(Lepidium
fatifolium). Patch is approximately 20 ft diameter and appeared to be
limited to this one area.Adjacent to Moffat dovmdrxln k4.
Sagebrush, chokecherries, and occasional Woods rose were observed down the Moffat drainages.
Occasional Houndstongue was noted around the drainages; however, only infrequent individual
plants (not patches or large concentrations) of this noxious species were evident.
1 R
f
Woods rose.Sagebrush&Cicer milkvetch along Sno, berry establishing at the base of a rubber rabbltbrush(Moffat
Moffat Down drain k4. (area).
The Moffat Pond was stable and well vegetated at the time of the inspection. A small patch of oxeye
daisy was observed near the pond. Although oxeye daisy was in the 1996 seed mix, the species is
now listed as noxious or invasive and should be managed accordingly.
The West Ridge Area Bond Release Block (BRB) consists of a permitted non-topsoiled area. The
ground surface was rocky and hard. The vegetation was visually dominated by alfalfa, cicer
milkvetch, perennial grasses, American vetch, rabbitbrush and yellow sweetclover. Though not
visually dominant, houndstongue rosettes were observed frequently in the understory through this
area. Vegetative cover was generally good with varying cover density as we moved along the slope.
An area at the northwest extent of the West Ridge non-topsoiled BRB showed evidence of thinner
cover (appeared to be a reclaimed road) and ended at a gate to the neighboring ranch. Erosional
features were not observed in this area with thinner cover. At the western extent of the West Ridge
Non-topsoiled BRB, numerous large antelope bitterbrush shrubs with an apparent decrease in rubber
rabbitbrush were observed. A patch of Musk thistle was also encountered in this NW area. The
patch was approximately 60ft. x 30ft, but not dense. This species should be controlled when the
operator enacts control on other noxious species. Care should be taken to locate Musk thistle
