FISHING, HIKING
CABINS, LAKES AND RIVERS
SOWARD RANCH
ESTABLISHED 1886
(( A RESORT CATTLE RANCH))
BOX 130
CREEDE, COLORADO 81130
,July 27, 2009
Division of Reclamation, Mining Safety
1313 Sherman Street-Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
To Whom It May Concern:
THE LAMB FAMILY
OWNERS
Please find enclosed our signed annual report form, our check in the amount
of the $323.40 annual fee and two maps of the Soward Ranch Pit. The aerial
photomap shows the boundaries of the current 5-acre pit and the disturbances of
the current operation within those boundaries as well as the boundaries of the
proposed expansion to a 9.99-acre pit. The second map shows more visibly how
the existing pit is completely included in the proposed boundaries of the larger pit.
Last September, as planned, we mined and processed approximately 8,000
yards.of material-primarily road base. This took us, in places, to the very boundary
of our 5-acre permit. It is our plan to apply for a limited impact (110) operation
permit in the upcoming year to facilitate expansion of the operation in the future.
The activity at the pit in the next year will consist only of the sale and
removal of the product inventory, which was produced last fall. Thank you and
please call me on my cell #: 719-849-3542 if you need more information on the
Soward Ranch Pit operation.
Sincerely,
cot amb-Manager
Soward Ranch LLC
