(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-1986-047
INSPECTION DATE: 7/23/09 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: PCs
OBSERVATIONS
This was a routine monitoring inspection for an active 1 l Oc sand and gravel operation conducted by Eric Scott
of DRMS for the Phillips County Austin Pit site. DRMS toured the site with Phillips County representative
Randy Schafer at approximately 1225.
The required site entrance postings and site boundary markers (fence) were present, and the mine appeared to be
in overall excellent shape at the time of the inspection. Concurrent reclamation activities seem to be going very
well with several grass species establishing on reclaimed areas of the site.
The Division would like to commend the operator for conducting good concurrent reclamation activities at this
site, and encourage continuing weed control, so that this excellent effort is not sidetracked by an invasion of
cheat-grass and other noxious species.
I & E Contact Address
Randy Schafer
Phillips County Administrator
221 South Interocean Ave
Holyoke, CO 80734
