Upon the completion of any set of readings taken subsequent to the
baseline, of particular interest is the relative movement of the inclinometer
casing over time. To obtain this information, the baseline reading is
subtracted from each subsequent reading to yield a displacement relative
to the intial installation shape. Graphically, this provides a plot of
displacement of the inclinometer casing over its depth and over time,
shown in Figure 5 below. The "A" axis shows movement in the direction
of anticipated movement, while the "B" axis (not shown) shows
movement in the direction perpendicular to anticipated movement.
Figure 5.
For purposes of comparison, readings
subsequent to the baseline reading are
"normalized" by subtracting the baseline
deviations from horizontal from the
subsequent reading to arrive mathematically
at the total displacement of the latest reading
from the baseline reading. This is shown
graphically here, where the baseline reading
would plot as a perfectly straight and vertical
line.
PA M-6 L1 BH0535, A-AXIS
-1.00 -0.50 0.00 0.50 ILO
Cure.
