RECLAMATION COSTS
EXHIBIT L
The worst case reclamation scenario will occur in the middle of Mining Area 3. There will be the
largest amount of pit floor and slopes to reclaim to rangeland. These reclamation areas will be
the furthest from the topsoil stockpile produced in Mining Area 1. Figure L-1 shows the length
of slopes created by this pit at the middle on Mining Area 3 and the work needed to reclaim
theses slopes.
Worst case reclamation costs for this scenario are shown in Table L-1:
Table L-1 Reclamation Task and Cost Estimate
Activity Description Time Months Cost $
Knockdown the mining face from near vertical to 3H:1V slope. 0.1 $1,200
Final grading of 711' of 3H:1V sideslo es. 0.2 $1,000
Topsoil of the graded sideslo es. 1023 c at $1.50 per c y. 0.2 $1,535
Rip the it floor and compacted areas. 8 acres @ $600 per acre 0.1 $4,800
Place topsoil on pit floor. 8 acres to a depth of 6 inches. 6,453 c.y. @
$0.87 per c..
0.25
$5,614
Disc topsoil areas prior to seeding $200 per acre x8 acres 0.1 $1,600
Seed, mulch and fertalize all dry land disturbed areas.
